Team Lead: Application Development (ABAP)

Job Description

One of Africa’s largest Retailers is urgently looking for a highly experienced SAP ABAP Resource to join their team as an Application Development Team Lead. The scope of this position includes the supervision of a team of systems development staff in order to plan, estimate and carry out programmes of systems development work to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full systems development life cycle (SDLC) management within area of responsibility.

• Plan and manage all activities within area of technology

• Perform project/sub-project management of projects/sub-projects in area of responsibility.

• Produce logical and physical designs.

• Ensure effective resource management.

• Provide quality assurance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3 Year Diploma or Degree in Information Systems

• 7 - 8 Years’ experience in Application Development and has held technical responsibility for the development, implementation and testing of at least one major application.

• Application Design and Application Development

• Methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle Class

- State Transition Diagramming

- UML - Unified Modeling Language

• Programming Languages

- OO ABAP

- Webdynpro (ABAP)

- Java scripting

- SmartForms/PDF Forms

- Workflow

• Software Project Management Class

- MS Project (Microsoft)
