Job Description
Are you a wiz at Linux? Then this job is what you have been looking for. Our Nationally recognised client is looking for a Systems Engineer to manage their systems. They are looking for someone with a passion for Linux and have great experience in Perl, Ruby, and Python.
Responsibilities:
Managing systems in a Linux-based networked environment
Deploying or managing large scale distributed Linux environments
Personal Attributes:
Be able to operate in high pressure environment and successfully handle multiple priorities.
Possess a strong desire to build, and a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Excellent communication, prioritization and analytical skills
Minimum Requirements:
5 years experience managing systems in a Linux-based networked environment
Good knowledge of the Linux stack with experience managing it in a work context
Solid knowledge of server hardware and software troubleshooting
Knowledge of system performance methodologies along with hands on empirical monitoring
Experience deploying or managing large scale distributed Linux environments
Be proficient with one of Perl, Ruby, Python, and Shell Scripting
Understand Internet and operating system security fundamentals
Understand TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies (DNS, LDAP, NFS, and FTP)
