Software Developer (intermediate / senior)

Job Description

We are looking for a Web Application Developer (Python or JavaScript) to help turn our ideas on how the travel industry should work into reality. You will use your relevant degree and extensive OO experience to build, test and deploy the application.

Key requirements of this position include:

• A tertiary qualification preferably BComm (IS) or BSc (Computer Science)

• Minimum of 4 years application development experience with at least 2 years

• web development in one or more of the following areas:

• Server Side: Python (Pylons), or Java or other OO technology

• Client Side: XHTML, JavaScript (ExtJS, JQuery)

• Relational Databases (ORM Mappers (Hibernate / SQLAlchemy), SQL,

• Query Optimisation)

• Agile Methodology exposure (CI, TDD, etc) will be an advantage

• Strong OO implementation skills – experience in designing strong technical

• solutions

The ideal person will have a passion for exploring the role of technology in simplifying and adding value to the lives of users. They enjoy learning about new techniques and better ways of doing things without re-inventing the wheel. They are persistent with an eye for detail.
