Senior Service Engineer

Job Description

Leading Internet Service Provider in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town requires a Senior Service Engineer for the support and planning of the Data Centre Operations.

Responsibilities:

Support and administer Windows and Linux server environments

securing and hardening networks and server environments

Troubleshooting application and database problems

Pro-active management of the servers

Manage Server Backups and Disaster Management

supporting internal office IT environment

Requirements:

Relevant 3 year IT Diploma or equivalent

Min 5 years’ working experience in networking, server and application

MCSE, A+,N+, MCP, Linux, Cisco or any other related certifications

Thorough understanding of networks, TCP/IP protocols

Skills:

Knowledge of Web Server Environment is essential

Windows

LINUX

Hyper-V Virtualization

MS SQL and MySQL

IIS and Apache

Windows and Linux Mail Servers

Public facing DNS Servers

Active Directory Domains

Parallels Plesk Control Panel

Basic HTML/PHP/ASP Coding
