Senior Linux Systems Administrator
Location: Pretoria
Salary: R350K-R400K
One of the well-known print and online media company is looking for a Senior Linux Administrator with own transport and as the client is based in Pretoria you should ideally live in the Pretoria / Midrand area.
Requirements:
3+ years as a Linux Administrator
Apache, MySQL, PostgreSQ, Varnish, MemcacheD, Heartbeat, NGINX, Solr, FTP, Samba, Shared mounts (GlusterFS, etc.), TCP/IP ,Tomcat, Squid, Postfix, Nagios, Cacti Graphs Familiarity with Solr & MySQL replication Advanced Networking PC and Server Hardware.
Must be willing to lead after-hours response for all server-related issues
Desirable Qualities LPi Certification Microsoft Windows knowledge (for user support): XP, Vista, and Windows
Duties:
The candidate must be able to maintain existing web, mail, and data infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be able to take the existing infrastructure to the next level of reliability and security. Candidate must be able to do the work, document it effectively, and mentor junior administrators.
Able to give in-house training to junior systems administrator Advanced programming skills in PHP and MySQL.
