Senior Engineer Pavements

Job Description

The position provides civil design and construction engineering knowledge (specialising in pavements) and effective project management skills to support the ongoing activities of a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. To provide the complete analysis and design tasks as assigned by the Transport Manager or Project Managers. Vacancies in both Brisbane and Sunshine Coast offices

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Education / Membership

• Appropriate engineering degree / higher degree from accredited university/college

• Chartered Professional Engineer and / or Registered Professional Engineer (desirable)

• Maintain professional development and abreast of advances in chosen technical field (pavements)

Skills

• Sound knowledge of TMR specifications, standards and procedures, current Austroads standards, MUTCD, TRUM, Council subdivisional and development guidelines, other local government standards and Australian Standards

• Demonstrate knowledge and use of appropriate pavement design software

• Competent skills in the use of Microsoft desktop products such as Word, Excel and Outlook

• Strong report writing skills to prepare and furnish reports

• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment

Experience

• 5 - 10 years of practical and relevant experience

• Substantial experience in road and pavement design and construction

• Experience in the design and / or construction of associated infrastructure projects

• Hands-on experience encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects, in delivering within project based budgets and timelines

• Demonstrated ability to successfully undertake and deliver to the client’s Terms of Reference
