SAP Basis Consultant

Job Description

A leading IT Retail Solutions provider is seeking an experienced K3/K4 SAP Basis Consultant to Manage Technical /Basis Architecture for SAP Implementations.

Responsibilities:

Business Management / Administration

Ensure adherence to documentation, Change Control and other policies and procedures Continual review of processes to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness

Development of business cases for client presentations

Attend customer weekly forums

Design, implement, monitor and optimise SAP Landscapes and dependant technologies.

Ownership of customer landscapes.

Interact with other teams to maximise client satisfaction

Provide third level support in conjunction with ATS members

Effective planning and management of system resources

Be actively involved in ensuring a quality predictable service is delivered at all times

Understanding the customer’s current and future requirements and developing relevant solutions

Ensuring agreed solutions are implemented correctly and timeously

Ensure change control is effectively implemented for all customer changes – including risk management and back out planning

Analyse SAP and IBM reports (Early watch, Insight etc.) and ensure actions are taken to addressed identified issues.

Develop and manage a technology plan for customers

Qualifications:

Degree or relevant tertiary qualification advantageous

Relevant SAP training (Basis Certification) ESSENTIAL

3+ years SAP Basis experience

Experience in one or more of the following operating systems: - AIX (key), Windows, Linux Experience in one or more of the following database systems: - DB2 UDB (key), SAPDB (Maxdb), Informix, Oracle, SQL

Appreciation of large systems - preferably retail
