SAP ABAP Developer

Job Description

One of Africa’s largest food retailers is currently looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer. This position requires a Candidate who is able to develop and maintain ABAP Programmes and Functions, Provide support to the junior members of the team as well as offer support to HR Users. Responsibilities:

• To develop ABAP programs and functions as requested by the Human Resource Department in accordance with the Company Standards:

 Assist the Business Analysts with the capabilities of the SAP system when required

 Resolve incidents within SLA

 Do accurate timekeeping of time spent on changes

 Maintain the task management systems (ProSite and Remedy)

 Do unit testing of changes made

 Ensure that the users test and sign-off the changes made

• To maintain ABAP programs and functions as requested by the HR Department in accordance with Company Standards

• To provide support to the junior members of the team as well as all HR users of the SAP Time Management System

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3-Year Tertiary IT Programming Degree / Diploma

• SAP ABAP Certification - Desirable

• Knowledge of South African Labour Legislation - ESSENTIAL

• Knowledge of Wage Determination Act for Retail - ESSENTIAL

• 1 year experience in Standard ABAP - ESSENTIAL

• 1 year experience in Dialog Programming - Desirable

• 6 months experience in SAP Script - Desirable

• 6 months experience in Object Oriented ABAP - Desirable

• 6 months experience in Smart Forms - Desirable

• 3 months experience in creating programs that read and write XML files - Desirable

• MS Office Skills - Essential

• Problem Solving skills - Essential

• Good communication skills (written & verbal) - Essential

• Organising skills - Essential

• Analytical skills - Essential
