Job Description

Our Client, an established Consulting Engineering firm is looking for a Professional Pavement Engineer/Technologist with 10+ years’ experience to fill their position as a Pavement Engineer/Technical Director.

Position type: Permanent

Area: Pretoria, Gauteng

Salary: R900k

About the Position

The Technical Director role will work collaboratively with a project manager and Director to design and execute specific technical improvements (maintenance, reliability, production, process improvement, management systems, sanitation, supply chain).

They will lead multiple teams through organizational change efforts of varying size and complexity.

This role will utilize change management principles, processes, and tools to:

• Focus on driving financial and operational results for our clients

• Behavioural changes; designing change strategy

• Assessing stakeholder impacts and organizational readiness

• Recommending and/or implementing appropriate communication, training, and behavioural change solutions

• Measuring effectiveness to enhance organization, group, and individual performance

Minimum Requirements:

 10 years’ experience

 Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Postgraduate Qualification in Civil Engineering or Masters in Pavement Engineering)

 Registered as a Pr Eng. or Pr Tech Eng. with ECSA

 Code 08 Driver’s License

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

 Highly Computer Literate

 Contractual knowledge of the JBCC, GCC, Fidic and NEC forms of Contract

 Understanding of Construction Industry

 Basic Routine Road Maintenance and/or Road Rehabilitation knowledge

 Willingness to travel long distances and work in different locations when required

 Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent project changes.

 Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal oversight.
