Job Description

Our client, an established Engineering Consulting firm, is looking for a Structural or Civil Engineer to take the position of Office Manager in Durban, KZN.

Position type: Permanent

Salary: R1.2mil

About the Position

The Primary responsibilities of the Office Manager will be in the technical environment as an Engineer or Project Management professional.

Their secondary functions will include the responsibility of representing the company in KZN by assisting the Divisional Director through:

• Providing policy advice and co-ordinating policy advice inputs.

• Overseeing the management of the office, including long-term planning, daily operations, and adherence to corporate standards.

• Adherence to compliance obligations as part of the Business Management System Procedures.

Other central tasks will include building and managing project teams, building relationships with clients, business development initiatives and ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles.

Basic Requirements:

• Relevant Bachelor's degree in the Built-Environment followed by a post-graduate qualification (Desired Education Level: Honours)

• Professional Registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA

• Minimum 10 years as a Structural Engineer

• 10 - 15 years relevant experience in Consulting Engineering (of which 5 to 7 years were in a senior managerial role)

• Private and public sector stakeholder management

• Proven work experience in a similar role

• Valid Driver’s license

• Preference will be given to EE/AA candidates who meet the requirements

• PrCPM would be advantageous
