Mine Manager: Coal

Job Description

An exciting and challenging career opportunity exists for a flourishing mining house in the North West for the position of Mine Manager.

Candidates wishing to apply for this position must be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in coal mining supported by a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency for fiery mines and ISO, OSHAS, OSH knowledge. An additional business related qualification such as a MBA or MDP is preferred. Candidates must also have at least 8 years experience in opencast/ surface coal mining and must currently be operating at senior level within a mining company.

The Mine Manager will be responsible for planning and directing activities to achieve targets and standards set for production performance, safety, and environment management, quality and legislative compliance as well as developing and maintaining a management structure for safe operations.
