Job Description

Looking for new career challenges and growth? Hire Resolve seeks a General Manager for a coal mine to be responsible for the development of the mine and meeting the business plan of the operation, including growth, profitability, management and development of all resources.

The successful incumbent will also be responsible for interacting with all stakeholders of the mine including local government and the community representatives and will be involved in policy formulation at Mine level. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of operation. All department heads will report to the GM. The GM is responsible for maintaining a smooth flow of work between departments and for resolving interdepartmental conflicts. The GM is to ensure that the company stays on schedule with regard to production and meets or exceeds the goals as set by the Board. Successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in mining 3 of which should be in a coal mining environment. A degree/tertiary qualification in Mining and a Mine Manager's ticket is required.
