Engineering Safety Officer

Job Description

Hire Resolve represents a well-known Mining company in search for an experienced Engineering Safety Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for reporting on and enforcing all the requirements as set out in the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulations. Assuming the full responsibilities of safety officer in terms of regulations 2.19.1 and 2.19.2, the successful candidate will train and coach all employees on matters realting to safety and health, hazard identification and risk assessment. He/She will control contractors in terms of medicals, induction, training and risk assessments, and will also liase with government departments, water users and external stakeholders. This role requires a National Diploma in Safety Management, COMSOC/SAMTRAC or equivelant as well as a valid trade certificate with atleast 5 years' experience in trackless mining enviroment.
