Require minimum 2 years hands-on experience providing end user support and some server administration. References required.
Strong preference for experience working in the Financial Services sector (retail and/or institutional).
Exposure to Microsoft SharePoint, Lync and System Centre products highly beneficial.
Exposure to K2 Blackpearl, Smartforms beneficial
Install, maintain and troubleshoot all computer hardware and software within organisation.
HP PC/notebooks (Windows 7+, Office 2010+, Forefront Client/Endpoint Security)
Dell PowerEdge Servers
HP Printer/MFP devices (incl HP JetAdmin)
Microsoft Server (incl Windows Server 2008+, Exchange, AD, Hyper-V, TMG, SQL, FOPE, FPE, WSUS, Lync, System Centre)
Pastel Partner, Attix5 Storage Server
Various mobile devices – e-mail/calendaring (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry)
few MacOS end user devices
Ensure equipment and networks are up and running smoothly.
Use & maintain Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MSDT) and images.
Pro-active end-point servicing (patching).
Provide on-site technical support for certain external business services.
Online banking (big 4 SA banks)
Data services (Bloomberg Terminal, I-Net, Datastream)
Business partner links (via Citrix)
Answer vast array of technical questions of all end users (ranging from troubleshooting Internet connection problems to instructing users on how to turn on their systems), escalating them to higher-up support if required.
Interact with external vendors regarding procurement and repair of hardware.
May deliver one-on-one or group classroom technical training to employees.
May consult with end users and offer recommendations regarding hardware and software upgrades.
Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed (urgent break-fix/rollout).
Meticulously track details of all work in-progress and completed.
